Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for launching the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, describing it as a strategic initiative that mirrors the grassroots development model pioneered by Katsina State in November 2024.

Governor Radda said the programme reflects the success of the Katsina State Community Development Programme (KSCDP), which has been driving inclusive growth across the state’s 361 electoral wards.

“We are delighted that Mr. President has recognized the transformative potential of ward-level development interventions. What we initiated in Katsina State as a grassroots empowerment strategy is now being scaled nationally,” Radda said.

The governor explained that Katsina State had earlier released ₦3.6 billion to launch the KSCDP, with ₦10 million allocated to each ward through dedicated accounts. He noted that the initiative has boosted social cohesion, economic empowerment, gender equality, infrastructure access, and environmental sustainability in local communities.

Radda praised President Tinubu for extending the model nationwide through the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme, which targets about 8.8 million Nigerians across 8,809 electoral wards.

“The President’s resolve to take development to the grassroots — to generate jobs, reduce poverty, and enhance food security — aligns perfectly with what we are doing in Katsina. This synergy between federal and state efforts will accelerate rural transformation,” he added.

He assured President Tinubu of Katsina State’s full cooperation in implementing the programme, leveraging the experience and success of the KSCDP.

Governor Radda reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparent governance and participatory development, pledging to continue delivering the dividends of democracy directly to the people.
